Duffelbag Baby

INTRODUCTION/SYNOPSIS: 17 year old, eldest daughter of a career military serviceman, leaves Oregon in 1969, and arrives in California's Bay area during the twilight of the whole peace and love hippie thing. This story is about love, fear, drugs, death and loss, the Grateful Dead, living on the streets - and that's just in the first day. This isn’t some sort of little girl's diary or a famous personality tell-all but rather an account of an ordinary young woman living an extraordinary life and ultimately, this is a story of belonging, connection, and living to tell about it.

NEWS - Time: Current OKAY - NEWS FLASH....NEWS FLASH!!! On the advice of my Agent (yeah, I got one of those...who knew?) and although Duffelbag Baby will probably be hacked up pretty good by my Editor (yeah, I got one of those too...whatever!), I've removed my WIP memoir. Book will be out soon...like before the next Millennium: don't hold your breath. Apparently, there's some sort of Hollywood types interested in this 'ere memoir too. It'll be interesting to see what actually pans out. So, I'm not holding my breath either. Regardless, I DO thank those kind folks who have stopped by this Web site from time to time and I hope you'll buy the book when it comes out. I'm fairly certain the title will be the same - I'm stickin' to my guns on that one. It's funny (yeah, like in a total ironic way) that what started out merely as a space to practice writing - I hardly consider(ed?) myself a writerly type - was ultimately the place I needed to be to write what needed to be said. 'guess some folks were 'listening', and interested. Thanks for being a part of that...it's been real!
